The STEM Mobile Lab
Vortex, the STEM Scouts Mobile Lab, is fun on wheels for youth in some pilot council areas. Using learning modules of 5, 10 and 30 minutes, students explore concepts from animation to web graphics.
Bring the Mobile Lab to Your School
The STEM Scouts Mobile Lab is called the Vortex. The Vortex serves as a showcase of things to come to those who visit for the first time. STEM Scouts can use the Vortex for additional STEM Scouts activities. You may see the Vortex on the road, so honk to say hi!
What Does the Mobile Lab Do?
The Vortex has multiple smart TVs, computers, microscopes and a variety of lab equipment for fun, hands-on experiments for all ages.
There are separate curricula for elementary, middle and high school students, and each experiment directly relates to a full learning module designed for a 4- or 6-week course of study in a regular STEM Lab.
