Meet Our Team

“Individual commitment to a group effort—that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.”—Vince Lombardi

Meet the people who work to bring STEM Scouts to families across the country.

A little bit about Matthew, he started his scouting journey right here at CAC in Pack 212! He moved around a bit, getting his Eagle in 1997 with Troop 49, of Jeffersonville, IN. Matthew graduated from Ball State with a degree in Engineering and Technology Education and later, after teaching at Noblesville High School for a few years, went back to school to get an Associates in Network Infrastructure at Ivy Tech. Then joined the accounting firm of BGBC Partners as an IT Specials and Consultant before joining us.

He has been a registered volunteer with Sakima for over a year, most recently as a Unit Commissioner, Advancement Committee Member, and Eagle Board Chair.

When Matthew is not working or involved in scouting, he is the Technical Director for his Church, and really enjoys watersports, and cooking.

The Scout Council provides all of the training volunteers need to oversee a successful STEM Lab. Leaders don’t need all the answers, just an enthusiasm for working with curious young minds. Trained leaders and STEP (Short-Term, Experienced Professionals) volunteers work to create a positive, hands-on STEM experience. Middle and high school labs require that at least one leader have a STEM background.
