Wausau scouts go mobile with STEM lab

When Ruth Schultz was a teenager, telephones were tethered to a line and office workers used manual typewriters.

"Now everyone has things like cell phones and computers and I wonder what will it be like 100 years from now?" said Schultz, who celebrated her 95th birthday in the fall.

The enormous advances have created a world of opportunity for children. Because she wants to help them connect to the broader world, Schultz donated $150,000 to buy a mobile science and technology lab for the Boy Scouts in the region.
