WHAT IS STEM SCOUTS?
STEM Scouts is a national pilot program from the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), focused on fun ways for girls and boys, grades 3 - 12, to learn more about science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Using hands-on activities, STEM Scouts also encourages young minds’ natural curiosity and helps build interest in the STEM-related careers that are so crucial to our future economy.
The experiments in STEM labs are a chance to be creative, develop your leadership, problem-solving, teamwork and communications skills and learn to think like a STEM professional.
Build a Career
STEM Scouts helps pave the way for an exciting future career. STEM jobs are projected to grow 17 percent by 2018, and STEM salaries average 26 percent more than salaries for non-STEM jobs.

Interaction with STEM professionals, research skills and the opportunity to publish your work in a peer-reviewed journal all increase your chances for college scholarships.
